Strawberry~Honey Greek Yogurt Smoothie

Strawberry~Honey Greek Yogurt Smoothie from NewMamaDiaries.blogspot.com
I love nothing more than to make smoothies.  Next to sweet tea, strawberry lemonade, and Sprite, smoothies are my next favorite drink.  I have a good-to smoothie, which is my mixed berry one, but I decided to switch it up and do something different this time around.

I had some strawberries that were on their last leg and decided to make a quick and easy smoothie out of them.  I also wanted to get a protein fix, so I threw in some vanilla greek yogurt and vanilla all-natural whey protein powder.

I cooled the entire smoothie down with some ice, stuck a straw in it and enjoyed for my late night snack.  Baby really seemed to love this smoothie, because within seconds of drinking it, baby started rolling, kicking, jabbing, and dancing up a storm in my belly.  I guess baby liked that boost of protein, because there was a party in my tummy for a good 15-20 minutes.

What you need:
8 Strawberries
1/4 c Orange Juice
1/2 c Greek Yogurt
2 tbsp Honey
1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 c of Ice
1 oz Whey Protein Powder *optional*
You will have plenty to share with this recipe. I will be enjoying the remainder of mines for breakfast.  This smoothie is good for anytime of the day which is the one thing I really like about it.  Its healthy, refreshing, thick, and nutritious…everything I need to give baby what it needs.
Enjoy this frothy delight!
Happy bumping!

    1. Me too! I'm completely there with you about eating healthy and smoothies are great additions to get the little extra you may need. You can get so creative with them and they are so good and refreshing.

I always use honey if I want to sweeten my smoothies, very very rarely do I ever use sugar. I've seen agave a lot on the scene lately, but I'm not a fan of it, even a lot of people are. That's another alternative to sugar in addition to honey. I just love the taste that honey adds to it.

  8. I'm a sucker for smoothies, I make at least 1 every week so I need to keep my recipes coming! Great way to use the almost expired strawberries and protein powder! This is a powerful smoothie! Thanks for sharing!

    1. I'm a sucker for them too! Whether I make them myself or buy them while out and about, I love smoothies. I hate letting food go to waste, especially fruit so I try my best to find a use for it and the best use I've found is smoothies. The only thing a little over ripened fruit does to a smoothie is make it a little more sweeter. No harm in that! And yes, if I can get a little extra protein punch, a smoothie's the way to go.

      Thanks for stopping by!
